A unique opportunity at an exciting time has arisen at the Brontë Society.

The Brontë Society is seeking to appoint an inspirational and proactive Executive Director to lead The Society, including the Brontë Parsonage Museum, as it meets the challenges of developing and resourcing the organisation and positioning the charity to fulfil its charitable objectives and bold ambitions.

As Executive Director you will be responsible to the Board of Trustees for the overall financial health of the Society and the Museum, taking ultimate responsibility for overseeing the budget and ensuring a sustainable future for the Society, its public programmes, retail arm and the Museum. You will also be responsible for opening up new income streams and enabling the Society to maintain and develop its membership and to reach a wider audience.

Candidates for this challenging post will have a track record of success in guiding and motivating staff and volunteers and managing change, and will be a skilled communicator. A keen interest in the Arts and an understanding of governance and financial management within the charity sector are also essential.

In addition to working closely with the Board of Trustees on operational and strategic issues and ideas, you will be a powerful advocate for The Society and the Parsonage Museum.
